Economics of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

The minor in the Economics of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion trains students in both economic analysis and a broader understanding of identity and society. Students complete coursework that demonstrates how economic analysis can be applied models of institutional change, economic growth, discrimination, inequality, migration, and indigenous economic system. Students pursing the minor complete 6 credits in introductory DEI-related economics courses, 6 credits of DEI-related courses from outside of economics, 3 credits of data analysis, and a 3-credit capstone course. The capstone course is designed to provide students with a culminating experience in which they deploy all of the skills that they learned in the minor.
